Hello and welcome to the very first post. you have decided to stop procrastinating and start getting your life in order. Notion can help you do this. As the title indicates, we will start at the very beginning.

Please follow the stages below.

  1. Open your browser and search for Notion.so
  2. Create an account (following their online instructions).
  3. Depending on the device you are using, download the app.
  4. Login with your details.
  5. You will be asked to name your account - this can be whatever you want (life OS, (Name)’s dashboard or HQ, etc.

Now you are ready to start creating a database.

  1. press /database to start a new database.

  2. Name the database - this will help you later when searching if you want to connect databases.

  3. You will see 3 empty lines, these are now your blank pages within the database. You can either keep the 3 or delete all (it wont effect anything).

  4. At the top right corner of the table, you should see NEW in a blue box. Beside it, is where you will see a dropdown arrow, this is where you can find your templates. A blank page is always selected, but you can edit these with as much or as little information as you want or need. We will get to creating templates soon.

  5. Click on the NEW button and this will open a new blank page.

  6. Type your title name. you can select an icon or cover for the page - a headline image. To select an icon - press add icon. It will bring up a list of emojis, icons, or custom - this is where you can add an image or icon you may have saved and wish to use. Just click upload file and it will give you the options of an image, link or file. You can also remove an icon from by pressing remove in the top left corner.

  1. Adding a cover is almost the same process, it has the same options as adding an icon, but with one more - UNSLPASH. Clicking this will bring up a list of images, from online. You can add a select few shown on the screen or search for a specific category of image and see several options. once you have decided, just click the image, it will take a second to download, them you will have this as your page header.

Congratulations

You have just successfully added your first database and page. On the page, you can add anything you want (text, images, spreadsheets, etc) - it is a blank canvas. Follow for more advice on how to navigate your way through notion.
